First of three sites for 'street rooms', phase one of the project 're-conditioning'.

The mattress in the little corner site on Charlotte Road, Shoreditch determined the site for today. It was going to be a bed room. Aching shoulders under the weight of the room.
Meeting at Brick lane Market to buy last minute provisions: Wallpaper, a cub rack, a broken chair. The corner site was full of rubbish and a pair of large sized, yellow household gloves made the job possible to situate the site. On the way to the store, minutes before we started, my mind focussed on a broom. We need a broom. The shop would not sell brooms, I knew that. My eyes carefully scanned the area. Then I saw a broom leaning against the big rubbish container in the back of Holiday Inn Express.

The work begins.
